This conference promises to provide nurses and primary care providers with the latest evidence-based practices and treatments for acute skin infections, chronic inflammatory conditions, wounds, and skin cancer, using many patient scenarios and case studies to keep the focus clinical and engaging.

Compassion in Action:  Holistic Caregiving – Saturday, October 3, 2015

Interested in holistic health care practices? Do you want to reconnect with the compassion that attracted you to the health field? Come join us for a day of learning and practicing relaxation methods and compassion in caregiving. Jon Seskevich, RN, BSN, nationally known for his work in holistic and compassionate care, will help you learn and apply strategies to help build resiliency, listen to patients without taking on their pain, apply guided relaxation and healing touch therapies, and provide short but effective neck and shoulder massages.

You will also learn how to apply self-relaxation techniques and mindfulness to your health care practice.  This is an excellent opportunity to connect with peers, refresh your knowledge about the mind-body connection, and build your knowledge and skills to increase the quality of compassionate care you provide

Pulmonary Update 2015– October 16, 2015

Then this is the conference for you!  Join us for a day of better breathing focusing on respiratory infections, new medications, a lung cancer update, and more! Advanced Procedures and Suturing Workshop – October 30, 2015

Haven’t used your suturing skills much lately?  Would you like more practice with lacerations and advanced wound closure techniques?  Join us for this three-hour workshop that is designed for health care providers at all skill levels. You will have an opportunity to learn, refresh and practice your basic suturing, biopsy and incision and drainage skills as well as learning and practicing advanced wound closures with hands-on guidance from experienced health care providers.

Over the course of the day you will learn to choose your materials, perform digital nerve blocks, simple interrupted suturing, mattress suturing, advanced closures, incision and drainage, and punch biopsy techniques.  Registration will include practice materials for use during the workshop. Participants will complete a didactic module online prior to coming to the in-person session to maximize hands-on practice time.
