Honors for SON undergrads

Two UNC nursing students were  recognized for their dedication and excellent academic performance in the Chancellor’s Awards Ceremony. Claire Clement received the Class of ’56 George Livas Award, and Emily Morgan was named a James M. Johnston Distinguished Senior. The ceremony, held annually in the spring, is the only campus-wide student recognition program at Carolina. This year, a total of 71 students from schools and academic departments across UNC were honored with the University’s most prestigious awards for academic achievement and leadership. Read more…

Six nursing students were among the 307 graduating seniors honored by the Carolina Center for Public Service as Buckley Public Service Scholars, a program that encourages students to learn about and practice public service and engagement beyond the scope of traditional volunteerism. Senior BSN students Hannah Allison, Alexandra Chir, Casey Collins, Ronnell Green, Jennifer Hiteshew, and Christopher Mook were recognized with the other Scholars during a ceremony in Memorial Hall in May.
