Faculty and Staff Honored with SON Awards

At a celebration marking the end of the academic school year, two faculty and one staff member were recognized for their exceptional contributions to the SON.

Clinical assistant professor Jean Davison, DNP, RN, FNP-C, received the Faculty Recognition Award. The award is given annually to a faculty member who shows extraordinary and consistent dedication to the SON in their teaching, research, service, and practice.

Assistant professor Jessica Zegre-Hemsey, PhD, RN, received the Laurel Archer Copp Literary Achievement Award for her article “Prehospital 12-lead ST-segment monitoring improves the early diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome.” The study appeared in the May/June 2012 issue of the Journal of Electrocardiology.

Information and instructional technologies supervisor Karen Echols was named Outstanding Staff of the Year. She was chosen for the honor out of six eligible staff members who received Staff Merit Awards throughout the year.
