MSN/NP Preceptors Needed

The School of Nursing has seen increased interest in graduate preparation in Nurse Practitioner education. With this increased interest we have continued, and new, opportunities for clinical preceptors for our NP students. We welcome our alumni to help fulfill this need, by serving as preceptors and/or by inviting colleagues to precept. While preceptors practicing in all specialty areas are needed, we have a critical need for providers in women’s health & obstetrics for the summer 2012 semester.

Preceptors receive satisfaction from helping the next generation of clinicians, experiencing the challenge of working with energetic learners, receiving hours that can be used toward continuing education/recertification/licensure, having electronic access to UNC Health Sciences Library resources through the AHEC Digital Library, receiving AHEC preceptor payment for qualifying courses, and gaining appreciation from all. Our graduate clinical site coordinator, Liska Lackey, would love to talk with anyone interested in this opportunity. Give her a call at 919-966-9420, stop by her office in Academic Affairs, or send her an email at llackey@email.unc.edu.

Please help us spread the word on our need for preceptors, and if you are practicing as a NP, please consider precepting a student in your clinical practice.
