Save May 6! Lecture Addresses Ways to Improve Outcomes and Reduce Health Care Costs for Vulnerable Older Adults
The 2010 Carol Hogue Distinguished Lectureship on May 6, 2010, is open to the public. It is part of the Duke-Carolina Visiting Professorship in geriatric nursing underwritten by BlueCross and BlueShield of North Carolina.
This year’s speaker is Mary D. Naylor, PhD, FAAN, RN, the Marian S. Ware Professor in Gerontology.

She is also the director of NewCourtland Center for Transitions and Health at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.
Since 1989, Naylor has led an interdisciplinary program of research designed to improve outcomes and reduce costs of care for vulnerable community-based older adults. In addition, she has extensive experience with intervention design and translating interventions into practice. To date, she and her research team have completed three NINR-funded RCTs focusing on discharge planning and home follow-up of high-risk older adults by advanced practice nurses.
